1959年出生於法國巴黎，就讀於巴黎國立高等裝飾藝術學院，曾是趙無極的學生，其後在巴黎國立高等美術學院學習。隨後任教於巴賽隆納美術學院及巴黎埃夫裏大學，於巴黎國立高等裝飾藝術學院為現任裝飾藝術教授。舉辦個展多於15次，作品亦於世界各地多個大型展覽展出，包括2019年《理念與現實》──中法藝術作品展（法國）、2016年《多元抽象》（法國）、2006年聖格雷瓜爾得獎作品展（法國）、1991年《當代靜物》（比利時）。

風景為Marc Tanguy主要探索的領域，他以短小的筆觸及鮮明的色彩配搭呈現出有力度的平和感。景色在他的筆下變得淡化和抽象，使畫面具有極大想像空間。由密集的筆觸到大色塊的運用，他在作品都在變化中滲透著詩意的氛圍。光線和色彩，呈現祥和寧靜畫面的同時，流露出藝術家抒發的心境情愫。

Born in Paris, France in 1959, Tanguy was a student of Zao Wou-ki when he studied at the National School of Decorative Arts (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs) in Paris. He then studied at the National School of Art (École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts) in Paris. He taught at the University of Barcelona of Fine Arts and University of Évry in Paris, and is the current professor of decorative arts at the National School of Decorative Arts. Tanguy has held more then 15 solo exhibitions, and his works have also been exhibited in numerous large-scale exhibitions around the world, including 2019 "Between Reality and Ideal" Chinese and French Artists Exhibition in France, 2016 "Plural Abstractions" in France and 2006 Saint-Grégoire Painting Prize Exhibition in France, 1991 "Contemporary Still Life" in Belgium.

Landscape is Marc Tanguy’s current most favorite field of exploration. He uses short brushstrokes and vibrant colors to express a sense of tranquility. The landscape image blurs and becomes abstract in his paintings. Allowing viewers room for imagination. From the dense brushstrokes to the use of large color blocks, his works are permeated with an open poetic space in variation. The peaceful and silent atmospheres along with the lights and colors of the image manifests a certain lyricism and the artist’s affection for nature.
