For Wu Guanzhen, creation is a return of body to mountain; to water's breath, and the whisper of wind. Each journey and gaze reaffirms his tie to the land. The ridges, humidity, and shifting light are not just scenery, but the pulse of his perception.

"Where Roots Grow" embodies a slow unfolding through time. Works like "Streams", "Wuyi · Hidden" and "Poem" trace the ripple of water, the hush of  forest, and time settling within lacquer. In "Violet and Flower" series, made for his daughter, this sense of growth turns inward, revealing life's tender pulse. It speaks of rooting and reaching; the feelings that spread quietly through the years, binding the artist to his land, his family, and his memories. The slowness of lacquer resembles growth in shadow, while the transparency of hemp draws light into the work, softening its edges into a gentle, livingsubtlety.

對吳觀真而言，創作是讓身體重新回到山林、水氣與風聲之中，在反覆往返與凝視之間，確認自身與故土的連結。那些綿延的山巒、潮濕的空氣與層層光影，不只是風景，而是他生命感知的來源。

「如植」，是一種在時間中緩慢生長的姿態。「那水」「武夷·隱」「詩」描述具體而溫熱的體感——水波的蕩漾、林間的幽微，時間在漆層中緩慢沉積。為女兒創作的「紫色和花」，則將這種生長體驗拉回親密的個體場域，呈現生命的柔軟與生機。

如植，是扎根，也是牽連；是在歲月中不斷漫延的情感；是藝術家與土地、與家人、與記憶之間柔軟而真切的生命羈絆。漆的「慢」如同植物在暗處悄然生長，苧麻的「透」讓光線滲入畫面，使邊界變得柔軟而含蓄。
